This blog is for applied social and political philosophy. Social and political philosophy should reach beyond the university and contribute to the dialogue about the communities, governments, and laws we want. My main interest as a researcher is the ethics of migration and I plan to use this blog as an opportunity to share an ethical perspective on immigration policy and current events. I am also involved with bringing philosophy into Portland area schools and have interests in democratic theory, distributive justice, American pragmatism, and environmental ethics (particularly with regard to the Hanford site cleanup).
